Guidelines for Good Packaging

CHECKLIST:    FedEx Shipping Rigid carton with flaps intact.    Storage Facility Items wrapped separately.    Geneva, OH Adequate cushioning material.    Ashtabula County Strong tape designed for shipping.    440-466-4588 No string or paper overwrap.    U-Haul Rentals Single address label.    Moving and Packing Supplies A clear, complete delivery history.    Boxes and Tape A clear, complete return address.    E-mail Duplicate label inside carton.

Step-by-Step Procedures:

1. Use a corrugated box. For best results, use a new box large enough to allow room for adequate cushioning material on all sides of the contents. If the box has already been used, remove old labels or other shipping markings from the box. Never exceed the maximum gross weight for the box, which is usually printed on the bottom flap.

2. Provide internal protection. To properly cushion the contents of your package, wrap each time separately. Fragile articles need to be protected from each other and separated from the corners and sides of the box to prevent damage. The use of one or more of the following materials is recommended: Bubble wrap, polystyrene peanuts, foam, corrugated dividers, crumpled paper.

3. Close the box securely. Proper closure is a must. For best results, use one of these types of tape: Plastic or nylon reinforced tape, water-activated paper tape, water-activated reinforced tape, DO NOT USE masking tape, cellophane tape, or paper overwrap.
